Anger Management

A 26-week Anger Management Program

L.A. County Probation Department Approved

For those who have trouble expressing and managing their anger in a healthy, non-violent way, the 26-week Anger Management Program is provided to those who have initiated an act of violence. Most participants have experienced an intervention or have had interactions with law enforcement. Reports are provided to the referring agency, and participants are assessed on their comprehension of the material as well as their ability to put what they’ve learned into practice. Most adults enrolled have experienced a community intervention, but the program is appropriate for all members of our community struggling with issues of anger. When appropriate, reports are provided to document each adult’s participation and comprehension. Recommendations will accompany all reports.

Couples Domestic Violence Counseling

Couples counseling is not initially indicated when violence is practiced as a form of power and control – one partner over another. A cornerstone of The CARE Program (Community Awareness Response through Education) philosophy is that violence is a learned behavior and therefore can be unlearned. When learning has been demonstrated individually FSA recommends that couples further explore their relationship in couples counseling.
